Vitamin D Prevents Cancer

Compared with Northeasterners, people in the Southwest have lower rates of more than a dozen cancers. What does the Southwest have that Northeast doesn't? A lot more sunlight.

A form of vitamin D is made in the skin after sun exposure. Then it travels to the liver and kidneys for biochemical "morphing," becoming what scientists call active vitamin D. Active vitamin D fights cancer by killing off cancer cells and reducing blood supply to tumors.

Much research proved the cancer preventing power of vitamin D...

- COLON CANCER. Researchers at the University of California, San Diego, analyzed five studies on colon cancer. People with the highest blood levels of vitamin D (a form known as 25-hydroxyzvitaminD) had a 50% lower risk of colon cancer.

- BREAST CANCER. The same researchers analyzed vitamin D levels and breast cancer rates in 1,760 women. Again, those with the highest levels of vitamin D had a 50% lower risk.

- PROSTATE CANCER. Researchers ar Harvard Medical School analyzed data from an 18-year study of nearly 15,000 men. Those with the lowest levels of vitamin D had twice the risk of developing "aggressive" prostate cancer - fast growing and often fatal.

Vitamin D also treats cancer. In two studies men with metastatic prostate cancer given mega doses of active vitamin D had positive responses, including up to 50% reduction in prostate specific antigen (PSA), a measure of disease's aggressiveness.

You can increase your vitamin D by seeking out sunlight for about 15 minutes 3-4 times a day. You can also take good quality supplements such as this one:

If in your city you have a vitamin clinic, you can go take a megadose of vitamin D. It is usually done once in 6 months.

If you already have cancer, I highly recommend you do my Alkaline Protocol for Cancer Patients, which proved to be very effective.
