Get rid of headaches. If you often suffer from headaches, especially when it comes to migraines, then peppermint should become an indispensable product in your daily diet. Peppermint leaves are natural antispasmodics and analgesics. To prevent frequent migraine attacks, drink peppermint tea or add fresh peppermint to salads. You can add peppermint to soups too. With throbbing pain in the temples, it is enough to rub fresh peppermint leaf in pain areas to activate blood flow and provide local anesthesia.
Anthelmintic. If you regularly eat fresh peppermint, you are strengthening the protective functions of the intestines and activating the production of bile. Bile is the most powerful fluid in our body, which protects us from parasites and pathogenic microorganisms. Intensive production of bile literally sanitizes the gastrointestinal tract.
Kidney filtration. For effective elimination of toxins and waste products, the kidneys must work as a powerful filter. Pharmacy diuretics have serious side effects. They flush potassium out of the body along with other important elements. Therefore, peppermint is a natural and safe diuretic herb. It not only improves the functioning of the kidneys, but also delivers large quantities of potassium to the body.
Ear-Nose-Throat. Peppermint is a natural antibacterial agent. It stimulates excretion of mucus from the body and helps to heal wounds. Drinking peppermint tea (only peppermint leaves and water) is effective for prolonged coughing and bronchitis. You can gargle chilled peppermint tea and rinse your throat to cure sore throats, pharyngitis and stomatitis. If you have severe nasal congestion, accompanied by bloody discharge, you can also drop your nose with a solution of one drop of fresh peppermint juice and ten drops of water.
Peppermint for a Woman’s Body
Peppermint can be safely called a secret ingredient for female youth and beauty. Consuming peppermint stimulates hair growth and protects against hair loss. To improve hair growth and prevent hair loss, you need to take a complex approach. You need to drink peppermint tea 2-3 cups a day at different times during the day. You also need to make hair masks based on peppermint leaves (there are many recipes online,) and rinse your hair with peppermint tea.
For oily hair Add 1 Tbsp of dry peppermint (or ½ cup of fresh leaves) into 1 cup of boiling water. Let it sit covered with a lid for 15 minutes. Then drain and add 3 Tbsp of lemon juice. Use this mixture for rinsing your hair.
For dry hair Add 2 Tbsp of finely cut fresh peppermint leaves to 200 ml of boiling water. Boil on low temperature for 3 minutes. Remove from stove, cover with an air-tight lid and wrap it in a warm towel. Let it sit for 1.5 hours. Drain and use for rinsing your hair.
Menstrual pain. Peppermint is also an excellent analgesic. If you have peppermint tea 3 days before your painful period and during the entire period time it will relieve menstrual pain.
Pregnancy. Since peppermint is very rich in folic acid, it is recommended to start taking it on a daily basis during pregnancy and especially during the first trimester.
Peppermint for Men’s Body
Peppermint helps improve the reproductive function in men. It also prolongs male strength with age. When planning a pregnancy in 5-6 months, the future father is recommended to use peppermint, which will increase the chances of conception, and will cleanse his body of toxins.
WARNING: In some people peppermint can cause an allergic reaction. It can lower blood pressure. Peppermint should not be given to children under 5 years of age.
