I like making my own salad dressings instead of buying them in a store. It helps to avoid harmful chemicals and preservatives, This recipe has 2 steps. First, you make a dry mix, which you can store in your pantry as a ready to go any time you need Ranch dressing. Second, you will mix it with wet ingredients. I am giving you 2 versions. One is thicker and you can use it for Ranch dip with your favorite vegetables or dishes. Second version is not as thick and is best for salad dressings. Here is how I do my Ranch dressing.
Dry mix:
6 tsp cilantro
6 tsp dill
4 tsp black pepper
4 tsp dry thyme
4 tsp dry chives
8 tsp dry onion (flakes, powder, any)
8 tsp dry minced garlic (powder or flakes will work too)
3 tsp salt (optional) I use pink salt
8 tsp celery seeds (if you want to make celery ranch)
Ranch dip:
1/2 cup vegenise
1 Tbsp lime juice
2 tsp Tbsp dry mix from below
Salad dressing:
1 cup vegenaise
1/4 cup + 2 Tbsp water
1 Tbsp lime juice
3 tsp dry mix
The longer this dressing stands the thicker it will get. If you need to make it less thick, just add 1 Tbsp of water in a time and add more if needed.
Mix all well and serve. Keeps in refrigerator for at least 2 weeks. If you choose diced or flake ingredients your Ranch will have little chucks in it. If you want it to be smooth then use powders.
